Five years, one embedded team
We have run data engineering for Dental Intelligence since 2021. It is our longest engagement, and it started with a warehouse that did not exist yet.

We built their data warehouse, then migrated the business off the logic it had been running on before. The migration is the part that takes the time. Rebuilding a definition is quick, and getting a company to agree that the new number is the right one is not.
We have staffed the embedded team ever since. The data pod is two to three engineers, and it is one of three pods we run at Dental Intelligence. The other two are product teams.
Board reporting has run on data we maintain in every quarter of those five years. Any firm can look good for one quarter. These numbers have held up in the room where company performance gets judged, across five years of changing priorities, tooling, and people.
